Subject: [VPA] NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS - 2019 Downtown and Village Center tax credits
In 2019, $2,600,000 in state income tax credits are available to projects that enhance the historic character and improve building safety of older and historic commercial and community buildings in designated village centers and downtowns. The tax credits support general rehabilitation work, code compliance work, and façade improvements, and may be combined with the federal program.
Applications are due Monday July 1, 2019 and the Vermont Downtown Board will make is allocation decisions when it meets July 29, 2019.
In addition to our written program guidelines<https://accd.vermont.gov/sites/accdnew/files/documents/HP/2019HTCGuidelinesandapplication.pdf>, applicants are encouraged to watch the 2019 Downtown and Village Center tax credit webinar<https://outside.vermont.gov/agency/ACCD/transparency_rpt/_layouts/15/Lightbox.aspx?url=https%3A%2F%2Foutside.vermont.gov%2Fagency%2FACCD%2Ftransparency_rpt%2FAudio%2FDowntown%2520and%2520Village%2520Center%2520Tax%2520Credit%2520Scoring%2520Criteria%2520Webinar.mp4> when working to complete an application for funding. Along with basic information and general guidance about the Downtown and Village Center tax credit program, this 27 minute video reviews the program's recently updated scoring criteria which is used to evaluate and score applications.
