Hope everyone is having a great summer.
Just a quick note to let you know that the Department of Housing and Community Development has kicked off project called
Zoning for Great Neighborhoods that aims to help cities and towns make small and incremental changes to their regulations and begin address the mismatch between Vermont’s available
houses and the needs of Vermonters at all stages of life.
To start the conversation, we put together a
short survey on municipal regulation to identify common regulatory barriers to new and rehabilitated housing units (e.g. excessive parking, lot coverage maximums, appeals, etc.).
The survey has only three substantive questions and should take less than five minutes to finish. Your
response by Friday, July 5, 2019 is appreciated.
Please feel free to forward this survey to others involved in addressing Vermont’s housing needs.
If you would like to contribute more of your knowledge and ideas, please use the comment box in the survey -- or feel free to contact me directly.
Zoning for Great Neighborhoods is underwritten with generous support from the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board, AARP-VT, and the Vermont, Green Mountain and
National Association Realtors.
Thank you in advance for your time!
