I'd like to see something that's a cross between this and the Apollo Lunar Rover as a IISS plug-in for scoutships. Looking at the Wikipedia page, the original rover was only 210kg. and it looks like it folds up to about 1.5m x 1.5 x 2.3m ... so I could see an external "niche" (T5 build rules) of about 0.5 dtons. If it were built at TL12+, we'd be looking at room temp super conductors for the electric motors, and supercaps or Fusion+ for a power supply, so the performance would be a lot better. If you go with 10% performance increase per TL on the electric motors and batteries, that comes out to somewhere near 30 kph for a top speed, and a battery power range of about 150km. And it looks like there's room behind the seats for a 2m wide by 1m long by 1m high "module" to be locked into place. Hmm... Maybe a 1 dton "bay" option for the type-S with a Rover, 3 Modules, a winch/davit to lower them to the Rover or raise them back into the bay, and a locker for repair tools, spare parts, and such like?
