Obviously, if it doesn't feel right you should improvise in your
universe. But you would want to improvise within the envelope defined
by reality. I think that to a starship operator, most of the cost
in providing a high passage will be paying the cabin steward for his
labor and paying for the passenger's food. That leads me to think that
10kCr /travel-week is right. But if I'm the captain of a J-3 ship
looking at a passenger who wants to go where I'm going. I'm looking at
the 3 * 10kCr cost of making that journey as three jumps on slower
trips as an opportunity to make a better rate. As that captain, my
success and thus my price will depend on the number of J-3 ships at
the port that can offer the same direct rate price.
