Patton's instructions for using the 1913 saber...

The pages appear to be badly out of order....Badly. I mean even worse
than "T5 out of order"

Section 41 has comments about using the weapon from horseback --
". Insist that the trooper does not flinch, but keeps his full
extension until the point has entered the dummy, and the instantly
withdraws it and assumes guard with the rotation to the right
described in point to the right front."

The illustration for "lunge to right front or Charge Saber"  is
particularly interesting to me - the front stances dismounted suddenly
make more sense when you realize the intention is to use the horse's
head as body armor.
The picture showing the same dismounted looks....odd.I was always
taught that "the shoulder should not exceed the knee,lest you lose
center" but this is way,way bent over.
