I
think most of them were Academy or College grads and served
an
additional five or six terms. We used
the expanded character creation
rules with
one or two house rules (if you won an award - and they were
all straight rolls - then you could qualify
for a second promotion that
term is the one
that comes most to mind).

Just as an aside;
I read an article recently that indicated that, w/i the US Armed Forces, 3 & 4 star gens have a avg service time of 30 years as of 1972.
So that would be 7 or 8 terms plus college/academy in the TU. BTW, I believe Gen Schwartzkopf (sp?) from the 1st Gulf War served over 35 years on active duty.
