My issue with cutter modules is ... how'd they get there? I guess the Service would contract either merchants or the IN to transport them, or use an X-boat tender that's on it's way someplace else. I've been playing with the T5 rules, and thinking about adding grapples to the Type-S. With a bubble J-Drive, they have the jump volume to fit up to 49 dtons of additional stuffs and still making J2. A grapple will handle 35 tons of external pod... so a 30 ton cutter module with 3 tons of "streamlining fairings" would work > > A base might also include a Type-S permanently stationed there, and used as storage > space, extra accomodations, and as a power supply if it's not needed for routine use as > an actual ship. Or it's the ship of the "retired" Scout contracted to be an adviser.
