I just remembered a book that should be read by anybody planning on
the players wandering around in the Oort cloud or farther out.

It's "Camelot 20K" by Robert Forward.

The "20K" in the title is the average surface temp of the planet the
aliens in the book live on.

Mind you, it's sort of a buildup to a McGuffin, but it's a fun ride.

And would starle the hell out of any PCs not familiar with the book.
