Most of the stuff actually played out in a game session should be interesting, and the decisions made should be more likely than usual to significantly affect the PCs' progress. This is not to say that every situation has to be life-or-death, nor fortune-or-ruin. It doesn't take many of those for the near certain outcome to be death or ruin. Any GM should be able to help guide exciting games without overusing the all-or-nothing cliche. - Tim
