 I have a (very vague) memory that
 the fact that the early SJG JTAS entries were out of
 chronological order was a deliberate attempt to model the
 comm time lag between when those stories would have first
 entered the TNS net and when they would have arrived in the
 Marches.
 Then - at
 some point - the publishers quietly gave up on this
 attempt.

Well the end result was that the dispatches from Capital concerning the death of AD Dulinor & subsequent events were displayed out of order.
