Reminds me of the old TV series 'Lost in Space'!

I finally got a
Netflix account and immediately started re-watching this
show. Watching the episodes without commercial interruption
and one right after the other - at least for me - highlights
the very game-like nature of the action. The crew barely
gets out of one mess before they're plunged straight
into the next one . . . and sometimes several messes hit
them at once. Add in the two running gags of their
off-kilter android [who essentially crews the ship by
herself) and how saidr beat-to-hell ship keeps breaking down
everytime they turn around and I find myself wishing I was
running this as a campaign.
There's one scene where most of the crew gets
locked in the mess by an android (NOT their own) that's
been reprogrammed to kill them by plunging their ship into a
sun. As the speakers play the dramatic announcement in the
reprogrammer's own voice, we get shots of the crew
members barely pausing in spooning up soup, saying in
response to The Voice things like, "Wish we could
remember doing that." and "Sounds like we're
doomed." I was laughing my butt off, imagining players
reacting the exact same way around a gaming
table.
