Well it's understandable as SJG won't be 'doing' Traveller anymore.
IP considerations will, no doubt, soon mandate the 'de-canonizing' (as if 'canon' really means that much anymore anyway) of all their published material, much like all the other material whose licenses expired.
While I always did prefer CT over GURPS (esp the mess wrt their redefinition of tech levels), I much preferred their timeline rather than the original GDW  'civil war' one.
