Wow, that is a monumental collection of fascinating stuff.

I vaguely knew that Maimonides was an renowned religious and legal scholar,  but the mental gymnastics to produce the results cited, reconciling Deuteronomic law with practice ("The meat stolen by the rebellious son shall not be consumed raw, nor shall it be cooked to medium, but must be done to a nice, ‘charred outside, rare inside’ before he can be taken away and stoned...” ) are beyond mere tumbling and somersaults but is like Cirque du Soleil times Peking Opera School raised to the Flying Wallendas power.

I bow to the magnificence of such a Master Rules Lawyer! Perhaps we could channel his spirit into ‘Near-C Pirates in comfortable shoes’ discussions or the ever popular ‘Feudal Technocracy: Feudalistic or technocratic?’ flamewa^h^h^h^h^h discussion 8-)
