Very true but I believe that, in most cases the effect would be the same.
For example it didn't help the Geonee very much when the Vilani showed up did it?
And, even though they maintain a persistent belief that they are, in fact, the Ancients, that doesn't make much difference either.
And for races that the Ancients never 'touched' it would be even more true...
