What happened with the F35 is that LockMart very ingeniously put some contract or sub-contract work on the project in pretty much EVERY congressional district. Good paying jobs == congressional support regardless of the success or failure of the program.

It;s always funny to me to see these rock-ribbed conservatives wailing about ‘big libberal gummint spending’ then turn around and present a purely keynesian big-spending defense budget largely oriented around 'creating good jobs’

Bitterly funny, because while they’re doing that, they’re letting our roads and bridges go to hell…

HEY! Maybe we can convince them we need to update our infrastructure because our tanks can roll on the roads when the ISIS-MexicanDrugCartel-Chicoms invade….:-)
