Esp the earlier version of the Sherman w/ the wimpy 75mm gun!

While the upgrade to the 3" gun was good the version that I believe would correspond most closely to the TAM vs Abrams would be the 'Firefly' version that the brits cooked up using their excellent (comparable to the Panther's 'long' 75/70 mm gun) 17pdr gun vs a Tiger I. I read an article where a famous SS tank commander that had recently received his 'oak leaves' made a charge w/ 4 Tigers against british tanks in normandy in '44 & single Firefly, engaging them from the flank, destroyed all four w/ ease. The commander's
Tiger, in particular, "exploded" in a fireball!
