Sometimes what works for me when I get into that state is to get into bed
(or the recliner, depending on time of day), put on a sleep mask to block
out any ambient light _and_ the temptation to grab a book or my tablet and
read, and just lie there. Usually, I'll fall asleep, and if there's no
sudden noise to wake me up before about a half-hour, I'll feel _much_
better when I do wake up.
