The TAS program, operated by DriveThru, has some pretty restrictive
license terms. It does allow you to use (some of) the Mongoose assets
(text, images). I'm not sure I'd be comfortable releasing products
under those terms, even without the requirement to use Illustrator.

You can always publish "compatible with" products without violating copyright or trademark.

I've asked for something else which is more usable. (I assume it's Adobe Illustrator, but they're working at a different level to me who just has Word and 'save to PDF'') (see previous email on trvellermap.)

That would take lots of work and for characters wouldn't be hard - but tedious because of quantity - but all the tasks and critters and vehicles/ships etc make me weep just thinking about it and I'm not that interested. (I'm very much a 'on to the next thing' kind if guy and surprised I even finish anything, much less want to revisit it.)

>>> - giving up with TAS and switching to Cepheus which, I suppose would have the advantage of a bit more of a cut of the cover price (DriveThru take a wodge and Mongoose another wodge) *assuming* switching doesn't reduce sales such as they are. BUT see above on all the conversion AND then I couldn't use Charted Space which wouldn't matter much for some adventures but would make others very difficult to convert and be quite a sadness.

>>> - deciding that perhaps I've had a good run and now is the time to do something else with the time I have remaining and take a break from it all entirely. I'm tired and this is more tempting than I might have thought. I'm sure Jeff can find other writers for FT and it would certainly reduce friction with my wife if my collection went to the Science Fiction Library in Liverpool or something.
