Both versions are similar in complexity. This was undone in FF&S2 by the mind-bogglingly inept typesetting that turned every asterisk * (for multiplication) into >|<, among other atrocities.

It really depends on the rules set you're designing for. They're all set specific: FF&S for TNE, FF&S2 for T4 and Gurps (whole buncha books) for GURPS, since FF&S covers everything from hand guns to starships.

more philosophically some people like 'em, some hate 'em. Dig through the archives in the TNE era for some of Rod Elliot's truly insane FF&S creations; IIRC there was a uncompensated, open-seat grav bike with a max speed of something like Mach 3.

Yes, essentially a flying harley-davidson, no seat belts, no windscreen, no speed governor. Most riders probably had lifespans measured in minutes, or however long it took to tumble down from 30K ft when you lost control :-)

Also an elephant-mounted particle-beam weapon or fusion gun, and someone even once made 'Barbie's Own CPAW' Get revenge on your little brother ripping off barbie's head by turning his GI Joes into a puddle of melted, radioactive plastic.
