Traveller 5 already defines size 1 maps as being 12 pentagons rather than the usual pentagon-hexagon mix. These days, with computer support, it might be better to just define the actual shape of the asteroid or planetoid (I stole the real-world didymos here): https://1drv.ms/v/s!AhOy6SzueEkKlYB3gG79V9s4PjTpMA?e=p5gcWU On Monday, June 24th, 2024 at 3:31 AM, Richard Aiken - raikenclw at gmail.com <xxxxxx@simplelists.com> wrote: > Hey All, > I'm creating a series of blank world maps for my next campaign, which will focus on exploring beyond the fringe of Charted Space. Having read that bodies with diameters below ~700 km *may* not attain a spherical form (and those below ~400 probably never do), I'm considering using a folded-out octahedron [d8] for my Blank Size 0 World Map, rather than the normal folded-out icosahedron [d20]. I think this would make a good reminder that the worldlet in question isn't boringly round. > > Thoughts? > > -- > Richard Aiken > > "Never insult anyone by accident." Robert A.
