Thank you to all who chipped in with ideas and suggestions, both on- and
off-list. I ended up starting with A.Z. Foreman,

based on a suggestion from 'G. M.', but made some minor changes to that
translation. Both the original and the (modified) translation appear in
this issue, which I expect to post in not too many hours from now.
