Yes, kit like that (such as engine room) _should_ be isolated from
external connections.
_Will_ it be? That depends a lot on which milieu you're playing, and
where in said milieu.
New Era? Certainly.
Interstellar Wars? Possibly not so much on the Terran side of the border.
