Well, you can make the thing bigger, and as long as you stay under
75,000 DTons the chances of hitting it remain the same. Or you can try
and make it smaller, to get the displacement under 20,000 DTons, and
thus make it harder to hit.

Of course the latter might make it a hopelessly unbalanced, with nothing
but the huge (for its size) spinal mount to its credit, and too little
armour, agility, or secondary armament to be worthwhile.

And making it larger might just result in a bloated design that's not
with the price and crew compared to investing the same resources in your
30,000 DTon design.

However, having dug out my /MegaTraveller/ books, I see that those rules
changed the target size breakpoints from <100, <2,000, <20,000, <75,000,
and 75,000+ (High Guard's breakpoints) to <100, <1,000, <10,000,
10,000+, and 100,000+ which makes trying to shrink the ship pointless.
