No there *was* a shot taken by the Alfa right towards the end, but the target (forget whether it was Krazny Oktyabr or Dallas - probably Oktyabr, as Ramius would have been the one to know about arming ranges) got inside the torpedo's arming range and the warhead didn't go off.
