Torpedoes (and anti-tank missiles, etc) are sometimes controlled, post-launch, by a wire that's spooled out back to the launcher. Out to the length of the wire, it allows for mid-flight/terminal guidance by the controller which is secure and unjammable. -- --------------- Just out of curiosity, how much 'wire' can a Mk48 'drag' before the spool runs out? How about some others? TIA, =================================================================
