So Tigress high and fighters low, and the enemy fleet is faced with an impossible choice. Blowing up things marines don't want to deal with - IIRC, there's a line in the MT rules about when calling for ortillary, unless prior arrangements have been made there's a 1/6 chance the ship is in the right portion of its orbit to provide fire. But if you put a dozen fighters in orbit, the marine on the ground should get fire when he wants it. > > I often explain that the Tigress style of Dreadnoughts are self escorting, due to the 300 fighters each carry. Have a Batron of 6 of those bad boys jump in system and you have a potent force to really control the entire system on hand. > > > On Oct 7, 2014, at 10:51 AM, Jeffrey Schwartz <schwartz.jeffrey@gmail.com> wrote: > >> http://tech-beta.slashdot.org/story/14/10/05/1843222/us-navy-develops-robot-boat-swarm-to-overwhelm-enemies >> >> I can see the 3I using all those fighters that aren't much use against >> other battleships in this kind of role - keeping the launches and >> cutters that might or might not be suicide shuttles at bay. >> ----- >> The Traveller Mailing List >> Archives at http://archives.simplelists.com/tml >> Report problems to listmom@travellercentral.com >> To unsubscribe from this list please goto >> http://archives.simplelists.com > > ----- > The Traveller Mailing List > Archives at http://archives.simplelists.com/tml > Report problems to listmom@travellercentral.com > To unsubscribe from this list please goto > http://www.simplelists.com/confirm.php?u=vSy3NFQJMSbZKrzPfC3XucFBsUCMtKrI
