On the topic of maintenance, it's not just starships which need it!

IMTU (highly variant), I came up with the idea that everything that needs it
is on one of four maintenance schedules: weekly, monthly, four-monthly, and yearly.

I described the four-monthly as: "It's one of the days when oil gets changed,
seals get lubed, tolerances are reset, bio-screens replenished, filters cleaned,
hoses checked, and so on and so forth. Every piece of machinery which needs
four-monthly maintenance gets it then. So the stores stock up on replacement parts,
lubricants, and all the stuff that gets used up, or replaced, or whatever."

They even sharpen the kitchen knives! This is all for stuff that's on-planet,
so it's possible to follow a fixed schedule.

Anyway, hope this might enliven somebody's TU. Some important resource might not
be available because "Sorry, Maintenance Day. Come back Three-day". And so on.
