Due to the congestion at Phoenix Orbital, Badass Badass-Moustache chased up lighterage and asked Drake to boost to Luna to transfer cargo there. "We have a home - and are driving it" - El Capitane Old Joe chased up a buyer at Kaufman for the industrial metals, getting 900 kilosolars for his efforts. While Old Joe wheeled and dealed, Nikki sodded off to Terra to flog the spices and chase up more vacc suits (Inn-sewer-ants required 20 skin suits aboard - Joe, Curly and Nikki wanted hazardous-environment suits on top of that). This patch was to go on the suits (exactly where, I didn't record in my notes): https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/612927701258469378/767687256848728104/Butchers_Paradise.jpg Nikki managed to critically-flub the search for a buyer, ending up 50 kilosolars poorer. Found a buyer for the spices offering 158 kilosolars - she turned that one down without incident. The suit order totaled 170,400 solars. BA-M got antsy about 5 wasted days - the clock was ticking on that cargo. Nikki caught a shuttle to Luna and rejoined Das Boot, which then proceeded to proceed to Junction after 2k worth of fees. The jump was routine - El Capitane polished up Bilanidin 0 (via Curly), but mucked up Broker 0 (despite Nikki). Upon emergence, they managed to garble the flight plan but land ok. Between paperwork snarl and Curly flubbing the initial departure attempt, they lifted 26 k poorer (22k fuel + fees, 4k fines) with 10 days to get to Procyon. Joe channeled Foul Ole Ron (BUGGRIT! MILLENNIUM HAND AND SHRIMP! GIVE 'EM THE WRONG END OF A RAGMAN'S TRUMPET I WILL!) and flew the departure in lieu of Curly. All three jump rolls critically succeeded - the players got the impression Junction trafcon was very happy to see the back of them. Herr Sweep made the following mods to the annotated floorplan of Das Boot: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/612927701258469378/767698125720649758/shiip2.jpg Procyon emergence was bang on the money - within a ship length of exit point, and 10 seconds of the full week. 2 days to go (accounting for boost time to Junction's 100D). Old Joe filed flightplan properly, but Curly had apparently gotten bored. The approach flight was the most interesting segment of the entire trip from Junction lift to Procyon touchdown. "Today, you're a brick on the wind." - Nikki "Why is the ground blue?" - El Capitane "The ground is not supposed to approach the _roof_, Curly." - Joe A partial thrust failure, a sev 1 crit to the powerplant (due to tumble), 2 TEUs breaking loose in the hold due to the tumble, and Nikki got zapped (6 electrical damage, post HEV suit) on the way down. Curly fought his way through the tumble, as Old Joe tried to sandstorm it to engineering - and bounced off a bulkhead. (approx 0:10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6120QOlsfU for a visual aide memoire). El Capitane dusted off the next episode of Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass as he organised everyone and got on the blower to declare an emergency. Bert snarked about whether the baked potatoes were ready. Joe picked himself out of the bulkhead and tried again - making more progress. "This is mighty dangerous" - Eddles "Then let's... _get_... *dangerous*!" - Wombat *Pissing themselves laughing* - Everyone else With the great Darkwing Duck thus propitiated, Curly managed to recover the tumble. The 6 tons of containerised cargo in the two loose TEUs was so much scrap (as Joe found out en-route to engineering). When Old Joe reached engineering, he found Nikki banged up but otherwise ok - no concussion, internal bleeding, broken bones, or light sunburn. After Curly's Wild Ride, the landing was routine. "Oh bugger, *YOU* lot" - Procyon CFR chief El Capitane and Nikki started work on the insurance claim, while Joe started unloading the undamaged cargo. After he'd flubbed one too many forms, Nikki kicked Drake off the ship and told him to chase up payment. 172,800 solars helped cover a few sins. A cargo forwarder turned up, chasing the busted cargo. Old Joe shot his mouth off enough to kill any hope of plausible deniability. The forwarder headed off, not happy to have to deal with customer. While they waited for the cargo insurance paperwork to go through, Old Joe patched up the the powerplant and residual J-drive crits (after amping up), with 0.4 tons of parts. Bert amused himself treating Nikki's electrical burns. Despite El Capitane's "help", at the vice-admiralty court sitting, Nikki managed to successfully argue general average. "Where'd the blank ream of paper come from?" - Nikki "Paper jam." - El Capitane. It took two weeks to exhaust the insurance company's pillocky. At the end of that, Nikki put in for (and gained) her limited master's ticket. "Jesus, Nikki, what DON'T you do aboard your ship?" - examiner at Procyon testing centre to Nikki who was there last time. Curly put in for (and failed) his pilot's ticket. Total of 12,500 solars for the two tests (pilot being 2500), and the game had been running two in-game years. --
