In the real world, that > same 1m liters of fuel would cost ~$750k... As an addition to my previous post, having done a bit of research on her (i.e. going to the builder's page), /Dilbar/ displaces 15,917 tons and is 156m long. That's 'destroyer' size these days, and WWII cruiser size. She's a lot slower than such ships (but fairly speedy for a super yacht), however, allowing her to require much less fuel as a portion of her displacement. She also has rather more volume for her mass, lacking armour and other dense systems like guns, magazines, and huge engines. I would guess she'd have a total volume of about 50,000 - 60,000 m^3 or more, for a /Traveller/ displacement of about 4,000 DTons or more. By the way, if you want more information on a lot of superyachts, search for the sites of companies selling the things. They often have fairly detailed specifications for them, lots of photos, and floorplans. They can be quite inspirational for such things as how to pack a luxury suite into a small volume, what crew spaces in cramped spaceships might be like (the owners and guests in these yachts might live in luxury, even spacious luxury on the big ones, but the crew spaces are not spacious at all), etc. -- Rupert Boleyn <xxxxxx@gmail.com>
