IMTU, it depends.

As the Power Plants get higher tech, they do start to use gravatic bottles - not at TTL 9 but starting at TTL 11-13.

So yes, an Engineer will need a little of all of those skills, but in a restricted way. Like working on cars you learn a little electrical, but I still would not want you to wire my house 🤣
