Actually, I'd think along the lines of

mouse -> mice, and
louse -> lice, therefore
grouse -> grice
house -> hice

Then, there's

goose -> geese, and
tooth -> teeth, therefore
booth -> beeth
moose -> meese

We also have

ox -> oxen, so why not
box -> boxen
fox -> foxen
