Quite possibly. Some of the Emperors who assassinated their predecessor lasted a while, most didn't. I'm not claiming that Dulinor's bright idea was, in fact, a bright idea. Just that he had precedent, and it might have worked, at least initially in terms of getting him on the throne with the moot legitimising him.
