I personally would put this down to dramatic licence, but there is one interpretation
which might work. Consider the Zhodani Core Route Project. By one measure, this
covered roughly one-quarter of the galaxy, or at least the galactic radius, if I make
the wild assumption that Charted Space is located in the Perseus Arm of the Milky
Way, roughly halfway out between the centre and the edge (however you define that).
Which leads to two thoughts:
- What if the Zhodani Core Route Projects were following the path that the
Kursae had already travelled?;
- What if the Kursae had mounted a similar expedition heading out towards the
perimeter of the galaxy?
Or, of course, both. Some room there for creative GM-ship, one might think.
