Actually, the total displacement of a Liberty ship was about 14,000
tons, and a Victory ship 15,000 tons. The Victory ships were slightly
larger, and had more modern powerplants about three times the power of
the old recipricating engines of the Libertys, giving them 15-17 knots
rather than 11 knots, and more range as well. Cargo capacity is about
the same.

In CT terms there's no significant difference between the two, or at
most, a Victory is 4k DTons and has a higher jump number.
