No idea. The only space combat system that I ever used was
CT. There were EMP effects there, since you could buy hardened
computers to protect against them. There was that nuke-blasted
ship in TTA which was still intact enough for the characters to
explore, which I always assumed meant it had been torched mostly
through EMP.
Even the above, I would imagine that in CT any sensors which
were turned on would simply be rated as destroyed, should an EMP
hit a ship.
But that is all house ruling how things work, not how the rules say
things work. I guess the crux of my point is that the rules are
abstract to the point where details such as this can't easily be
integrated into the game without essentially handwaving combat to
something more cinematic than rules based.
