Meh!

Spelljammer promised me Giant Space Cricetinae - that what I’m holding out for!

I particularly like the origin theory:
  • Every time a rules lawyer makes a GM cry, a different space hamster is born!

LOL!

Although, wasn't there a giant space hamster in a recent Mongoose book?  Hang on a minute while I rootle through some titles.

OK, not what I was looking for but there's the 'Walston' on page 13 of Spinward Marches 1: The Bowman Arm which I'd forgotten about.  A herbivore grazer the size of a rabbit.  Definitely hamsterish!  Looks even more hamsterlike on p.10 of High and Dry.  (But you need the newer version of the H&D PDF or the print version as the ealier one I have doesn't have the Walston image.)

OK, I could have sworn the image I was after was in a MgT2 adventure but I can't locate it at present, might keep looking...  :-)

<wonders off this time wandering if he should have added all animals to the contents listings of the bibliography> [1]

[1]  But they're long enough given that they currently include every map from planet scale upwards, every world with a map/UWP/description, every ship with deck plans, every named adventure or scenario (unless it's a very short seed) and much more, so I'd hate it to get out of hand... it's already 336 pages...!
