Morning PDT,
I live near Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington and the military exercise that is being conducted made me take a look at the image again. The structures in the image's back ground look similar to structures I've seen on JBLM and in books, on television and online that are being used as part of what I think are rough or forward deployed landing fields.
The control tower in the image appears to be similar to one of the towers I've seen erected on JBLM's Army Airfield. The structure behind the tower and with the marker with the number 2 on it looks like a temporary hangar I've seen on McChord Air Force Airfield, before being merged with Fort Lewis this it was an Base.
All the structures in the image appear to me like structures that can be set up quickly. All material is brought in and stored on site.
My understanding is that Class A through D starports have orbital and ground installations.
With the new information available I'm thinking that the image is probably the equivalent of a Class C or and upgraded D starport's ground installation.
