One other thing I meant to report on... Due to me failing to book the back room of the pub we were out in the main part which meant putting a couple of tables together. Even so it was a little more compact than the space we're used to so there was no room for my screen and barely my notes. What's more, to ensure everyone could hear I was put right in the middle rather than at one end.
So I had folk tight on both sides and opposite and felt rather exposed. Open dice rolls too as it was hard to hide them. Now I'm not saying I generally fudge them, but I was glad there was little (OK, no) combat and I was pretty much only rolling for reaction rolls which I'm happy to take as they come. But I did feel more vulnerable without my usual comfort blankets!
And I don't think anyone was reading my notes although one player did spot my dinner seating plan early on and was curious as to what it would be. (A Word Smart Art thing of a circle which defaults to 5 text boxes round the edge and I added a sixth). However, I do think it was rather obvious when I switched from my notes to the Patron Encounters of the book which may not have actually spoilt any fun, but seems to me to be a meta thing best not seen.
Oh, and I made an error I won't repeat. In order to get my own notes to fit on four pages so I could print them as a booklet on one sheet of folded A3 paper - easier to manage than four loosely after or staples sheets - I'd made my seating plan quite small with F1 etc for female 1 and then a key with their names, descriptions and lines. This slowed things down and I should have printed the plan to fill an A4 sheet and put names in the set places with spaces for the PCs to be added when I knew who'd attend (in fact they all did). I should also have been better prepared on knowing descriptions for names, to save looking them up. But to be honest I'd only really come up with the details an hour or two before start time. #betternexttime
(I was also cross I forgot, in all the pressure, two of my favourite pre-prepared lines!)
