But I don't see how planetary or state rights inherently oppose the people's will.
It is generally trotted out when the majority want to deprive the minority of their rights or due process, and the Imperials object.
So, that sort of depends on which people you are referring to. The minority being disenfranchised probably object. The local majority doing the disenfranchising, not so much. The larger population, once again, probably the majority object.
