Irrelevant, in the strict sense. But only for the moment, since there's supposed to be an Adventure (e.g. RPG) scale rules supplement coming along fairly soon. The current Kickstarter even mentions that he's trying to come up with a way to let PC skill rolls influence the base SS:T rules. So I expect that the only significant difference between the Squadron and Adventure scale rules will be that PC ships are substantially weaker in most ways, when compared to real warships. Which is - of course - exactly as it should be.
