Gold will still have its value in 3I?

It may be a rare and useful metal on Earth, but the Solar system is unexplored, and there may be large, very large deposits elsewhere that would devalue it to value of silver.

In the movie (and the book) he planned on strafing the facility with nerve gas, then setting off a nuke in the depository to make the US gold stores radioactive, thus increasing the worth of his own gold stash and bankrupting the US in the bargain because reasons and ‘Bwahahahaha!’. (it made no more sense in the book either…)

He drove in the front gate with tanks and trucks in US Army livery.
