I suspect not.

At least, not if it uses the same display tech as my laptop's screen. If the angle is just a few degrees off vertical vis-a-vis my eyes, then I see a very heavily-shadowed image.

An overhead projector such as the DIY project in the youtube video uses would probably be best, if you're not going to go with a display that's expressed designed to be used in a flush-with-the-tabletop mounting.
