Did you overlook the pay? Perhaps the sleeping/living space is small
but, yes we get paid 3 times normal wages and we have diamond hot tubs
we can use when the nobles are out of sight not to mention the GREAT food!

The tone of the most recent posts suggested that, e.g., the peasants would be put to death for befouling His Nibs' private bath (filled only with the purest Moran spring water, you know) with their sweaty peasant bodies.  Ditto touching the food.  Though I suppose that if we've descended to the level of silliness where the noble orders a full course meal, eats one croissant and commands the rest to be disposed of, the "table scraps" /would/ be quite sumptuous...]

Well, the Count would never behave like this, but possibly the dilettante second son who borrowed the ship for a month might.  Or at least if not him, some of the younger 'friends' he's invited aboard...

I really must get on with writing part II of their adventure or accept that I can't and submit part I somewhere as it stands...

Some jobs/working conditions aren't worth any amount of pay, especially when the workers aren't held in bondage and have skills that would get them much better postings elsewhere.  This covers most starship crew.

The servants - some crew, some household staff - get paid quite fairly for their various jobs.  (Not strictly, that it enters into the adventure very much).  (Although one of the most interesting parts at the convention last year was giving the PCs their character sheets - all dilettante second sons/daughters - and the list of servants they had with them and inviting them to add any others they felt appropriate or desirable.  Some of the ingenuity was great.  But my favourite was the noble who immediately employed two palanquin bearers....)

Have you seen the sleeping quarters on subs or the ISS?

If we are to consider the level of accomodations available at TL 8 and circa -2500, may I ask whether the crew is also allowed a rum ration to keep their water potable, and sufficient citrus to ward off the scurvy?

Well, I'd not thought of a rum ration but I might add it.  Not to keep the water potable though.  Did non-military ships in the age of sail have this tradition as well as the navy?  (I say the age of sail, I'm pretty sure my Dad used to get a rum ration still...)

Though I suppose the question is moot, as per your suggestion, I'm out.

If I've understood this correctly, you're bowing out of the thread which is, of course, entirely up to you.  I'm just a tad puzzled as (compared to some TML discussions) this seems to have been all about Traveller, remained on topic and been of interest to at least some.  My apologies if somewhere it overstepped a mark that's not appropriate.
