I don't recall ever seeing Warrant Officers existing in the Imperium. For those with broad memories, is that correct?

AFAIK, it is true.
Which, to me, is so very surprising, as MM, in his own words, did spend a tour in VietNam, with the US Army, which was choc-a-bloc with WO's who were chopper pilots.
p.s. I didn't know there was a WO5 in the US. From the time I was a child I was only aware of four grades of WO.
