Many thanks for the responses everyone. Really helpful. Rather than reply to every email separately, I've taken the liberty of putting the shorter ones into one response. I hope that's ok.

Ok, thank you will take that as meaning my ‘optional’ notation is spot on for both. I’m thinking the grav particularly would be a (perhaps expensive) high end option and the transponder required on higher tech worlds (or law level) but not necessarily always. I think I’ll leave whether the March Harrier’s ATV has either something for thrashing out in a game session.
Jeffrey makes that point with:

oh! Thank you. Between ‘something I threw together in PowerPoint’, my lack of electronics knowledge, and my general lack of artistic ability, I thought it might be a bit too rough and ready for some. Looking at it again, I'm quite taken with it already!

That I’d gathered (and remembered the computer one) which is why I was a bit cautious about using it.

JTAS 3 is quite clear: it says “energy storage system” – so I’ve presumed a stonking battery. Although perhaps “one” under the floor plates of the ATV and spread out (a bit like HMS Alliance, a WWII submarine you can visit about five miles from my home).

Thank you. I don’t know Renegade Legion, I’ll have to see if I can find some images. Near completion it started reminding me of the diagrams in _Starship Operator’s Handbook_.
cheers

Do ATVs have transponders, they sure could.
As for artificial gravity, I could ATVs on high gravity worlds having it.
