Hi Timothy,

Thank you for the link.

Yes, I ended up there too.  As you may have noticed I'm  a Sherlock Holmes fan.   Although I had seen the term before.

And from thence: " When canon is particularly contradictory, attempting to devise a Watsonian explanation can lead to theories so elaborate they become fanwank."

It did occur to me it had high relevance in the universe of Traveller fandom. :-)

Lol!

The Tor link names a LOT of space series that have swords (in the comments, people kept posting new ones and the list is quite long).

I know, I know another 'if only I had time to read all this too'.

And just to be clear.  I hearby solemnly and most sincerely declare that I am not and will not under any circumstances produce a bibliography on the subject.

Sorry.  But what with the The Traveller Periodical Bibliography vol 2 still an ongoing project (and of course TTB and the generation ship one still works in progress, my head just might explode).

Not to mention having to spend this summer rewriting the detailed referencing guide we produce for our students from APA 6 to APA 7.

Whichever lecturer it was back in my university days on a library degree that set the assignment of producing a 99 item max bibliography, has a lot to answer for.

(You perhaps won't be surprised to hear that a) I chose the subject of time travel; b) spent *days* in libraries and the huge Forbidden Planet bookshop in London (with permission) and c) went back to lecturers and was the only student that year who got permission to go (well past) the item limit!)

Still, I think I got an ok mark on that assignment. ;-)

It's definitely an affliction.  I wouldn't wish it on anyone.  Unless of course there's someone itching to help out on the Traveller magazines articles.  There's still online JTAS to do and a fair chunk of Freelance Traveller.

Anyway, I must have had a busy week or something.  I've just slept for 11+ hours.  So much for writing an adventure this morning.  It's nearly lunchtime.
The Jimmy Buffet song that has the words about being 5 o'clock somewhere I figure can be bent to being Morning somewhere too.
