This TL5 Motorbike Side Car is designed to be attached to a suitable motorbike, which provides the power and steering for the combined vehicle, and is not intended to travel independently, in fact it’s completely impractical to do so with the side car having only one wheel.
The cargo compartment at the rear of the side car opens to carry equipment, and there is a fixture on the lid of the compartment to be able to carry a spare wheel matching those used on the Motorbike and the side car. In addition to the cargo compartment there are fixtures to be able to attach two panniers on the front of the side car to allow for more cargo to be carried. The sidecar also has a trailer attachment allowing even more cargo to be delivered by the Motorbike/Side Car combination.
In military use the side car can mount a general purpose machine gun on it’s front operated by the side car passenger.
Going to TL6 would reduce the weight by 25%.
Best regards,
Ewan
