I would have to say no, that isn't the case.
In Book 2 of the LBB all the drives are standard and the performance depends on the hull size they are fitted into. The implication is that stripping such a drive from one hull and fitting it into a different size hull will give a different performance.
Also, the performance rating of the LBB designs with drop tanks indicates that the same drive will give different performance depending on the current volume it has to jump.

Can a J4 drive built for a 400 ton hull allow a 300 ton hull to make a five parsec jump?
