Hello again Ethan,
Being a Sonar Technician on submarines (STS) my job was to detect, track, and classify contacts. Once the contact became a target tracking and maneuvering based on bearings provided by sonar was sent to fire control which plotted the best firing point solution. Once all the numbers lined the boat would launch a guided torpedo, an underwater guided missile, the boat is maneuvered so that the weapon has the best chance of hitting the target on the limited fuel carried by the torpedo.
The Guardian is a remotely controlled weapons platform that based on my experience should have some way to maximize the kill potential of a launched missile by optimizing it ability to maneuver before running out of fuel.
I do realize that in Traveller the general rules ignore the limited fuel load on the missiles for the sake of play ability, which just doesn't fit well with my background.
