Hello Ethan McKinney,
As a retired submarine sailor many people question my sanity. I mean how many people volunteer to serve aboard a vessel that sinks itself on purpose, but is also designed to return to the surface?

The main thing is that rockits is rockits, so a comparison to MRLs is a good idea for a sanity check. On Sat, May 4, 2019, 20:36 Thomas RUX < xxxxxx@comcast.net> wrote:Evening Pacific Daylight Time Ethan McKinney.
I am looking at the TNE FF&S solid rocket requirements since the system appears to be related to CT Striker's design system. T4 FF&S also has a similar feel to CT Striker.
The MRL rules are for attacking only ground targets. While aircraft can attack ground targets and other aircraft in a dogfight. The MRL rules do not assist in trying to figure out the missing weight and cost of the 80mm and 120mm rockets in the Ordnance Table for MT: COACC.
Thank you for your suggestion.

Solid fuel rockets under which system? I think they're pretty straightforward in CT Striker. Use the MRL design rules, not tac missile.Sorry, don't know much Traveller stuff with me.On Fri, May 3, 2019, 16:07 Thomas RUX < xxxxxx@comcast.net> wrote:Howdy Ethan McKinney,
Yes, I used the .05 modifier per the instructions and since my posting I've found that the warheads are indeed OTL with real world examples. I've checked out the partial spreadsheet I have for TNE FF&S Mk I, Mod 1 (January 1994) Book III Chapter 9 Munitions and the mass is 4.8 kg. I've modified my CT Striker DS 9 weight from .05 to .5 as suggested.
The reason the project is on hold is that I'm still trying to figure out how to build a solid fuel rocket.
Thank you for your help.

If you're using the .05 multiplier for warhead weight, try treating it as a typo and use .5 instead. That will also increase the size of the rocket needed.Per the examples I gave, the rockets aren't "smaller" or "lighter," they're absurd. Compare the warheads to hand grenades. If the .5 multiplier still doesn't get you to the equivalent of real-world examples, try ignoring it completely.EthanOn Fri, May 3, 2019 at 8:10 AM < xxxxxx@comcast.net> wrote:Morning for Washington (not DC),Using CT Striker Book 3 I, hopefully if I correctly followed the directions, worked out the specifications for the 80 mm and 120 mm rockets on MT COACC p. 69.CT Striker Book 3 Design Sequence 9 TAC Missiles pp. 21-22 and pp. Design Sequence 2: CPR Guns L. Looking at the MT Specifications for the missiles my CT HE contact penetration is on target for the 80 mm HE rocket but the 120 mm contact penetration is 19 versus 18. Unfortunately my calculations for the 80 mm and 120 mm Flechette rockets penetration are off. If I made the Flechette warhead TL 10 my CT 80 mm penetration would match, but would be off by 1 for the 120 mm warhead. For the 120 mm HE rocket I thinking that the contact penetration should be bumped up from 18 to 19. Does this sound right and should I note the difference as errata? The Flechette warheads I’m not sure what to do with. I have incomplete TNE FF&S spreadsheet and one for BTRC 3G^3 that has a conversion system for MT, TNE, and T4. Should I try finishing them up to see how the two systems work out the rockets specifications?2.MT COACC Damage I have not figured out how to calculate using CT Striker. Does anyone have an idea of how to figure this out and can you please let me know to do the math?3. CT Striker does not indicate that a HE warhead has a danger space, while the Flechette warheads’ danger spaces are 5 cm.Looking at the MT COACC Danger specifications the 80 mm Flechette‘s danger space appears to be for a CT medium velocity round’s of 10 x 10 = 100 and the 120 mm Flechette‘s danger space is a CT high velocity round’s of 15 x 10 = 150.Can anyone please let me know how the HE danger space was determined?Any suggestions on handling the Flechette danger space?4. Weight, Volume, and PriceFrom what I’ve found so far CT Striker’s rockets may be smaller than most real world examples. In my opinion the prices are probably low too.I’m not sure what to do about the weight and volume, does anyone have a suggestion or should I let them be as determined in CT Striker?Does increasing the price by 10 sound reasonable or should I let them be as determined in Ct Striker?Tom Rux-----
